Here is updated advice re pet services.   It includes some corrections re the extension of the LGAs of concern announced today.

 COVID-19 UPDATE - PET GROOMING SALONS AND MOBILE SERVICES

As at 12 August 2021.

This is a summary of restrictions that apply to pet grooming salons and mobile services under the Public Health (COVID-19 Additional Restrictions for Delta Outbreak) Order 2021

The following restrictions apply to persons providing pet grooming services

  • Pet grooming salons may remain open and mobile services may continue to operate in areas under stay at home rules and in the Local Government Areas (LGA) of concern.

  • Persons living or staying in the LGAs of concern may only leave their residence to work outside of their LGA if they are an authorised worker.

o   The list of authorised workers is published on the NSW Government website. It includes workers for animal welfare, care and accommodation services, excluding pet grooming unless there is an immediate animal welfare reason. 

o   Persons living in the LGAs of concern may only leave their LGA to provide pet grooming services if there is an immediate animal welfare reason.

  • Authorised workers who live or stay in the Canterbury-Bankstown LGA area may only leave their LGA for the purposes of work if they have complied with worker testing requirements.

The following restrictions currently apply to persons using pet grooming services

·         Persons living or staying in areas of NSW under stay-at-home directions may only leave their place of residence to obtain pet grooming services within their local government area (LGA) or within 10 km of their place of residence, unless the services are not reasonably available within those limits.

·         Persons living or staying in local government areas of concern may only leave their place of residence to obtain pet grooming services within their LGA or within 5km of their place of residence, unless the services are not reasonably available within those limits.

Areas of NSW under stay at home rules   

·         the Greater Sydney area (including the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour LGAs)

·         Newcastle, Cessnock, Dungog, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Muswellbrook, Port Stephens and Singleton LGAs

·         Armidale Regional LGA

·         Tamworth Regional LGA

·         Ballina, Byron, City of Lismore and Richmond Valley LGA

·         Dubbo, Bogan, Bourke, Brewarrina, Coonamble, Gilgandra, Narromine, Walgett and Warren LGAs

Local Government Areas of concern

·         Fairfield

·         Canterbury-Bankstown

·         Liverpool

·         Cumberland

·         Blacktown

·         Parramatta

·         Georges River

·         Campbelltown

·         the following suburbs in Penrith LGA: Caddens, Claremont Meadows, Colyton, Erskine Park, Kemps Creek, Kingswood, Mount Vernon, North St Marys, Orchard Hills, Oxley Park, St Clair and St Marys.

·         Burwood (from 5pm 12 August 2021)

·         Strathfield (from 5pm 12 August 2021)

·         Bayside (from 5pm 12 August 2021);

  • For the safety of pet grooming service providers and the safety of their clients, NSW Health encourages the rescheduling of any grooming services that can be delayed or are not required for animal welfare purposes.
