The Aquarium Industry Association of Australia has been working hard to put forward a submissions to the Department of Agriculture, Water & Environment to have three fish added to the allowable imports list. Working with an environmental consultant through this initial process means there is somewhat of a blueprint for following assessments, so there should be a quicker turnaround on submissions moving forward. This is the first 3 species of 19. Submissions for the remaining species should be completed by the end of February.

Nearly $30K was raised by the AIAA to make this possible, with PIAA contributing $2K.

Congratulations to Graeme Faulkner from the AIAA for making this happen with the assistance of Anthony Ramsey from Crystal Palace Aquariums, Jared Patrick from Premier Pet, Gary Parker from Guppys Aquarium Supplies and Josiah Pit from Aquarium Industries.

Read the submissions below.

Torpedo Barb (Sahyadria denisonii)

Galaxy Rasbora (Danio margaritatus)

Polka Dot Loach (Botia kubotai)
