Paws at the Park celebrates it’s 5th Birthday!

The Gold Coast's favourite dog market event is celebrating its 5th birthday this August! 

 Paws at the Park held the Gold Coast's first dog markets back in 2016 and have since taken out two Pet Services and Product Awards and been voted Queensland's Best Doggie Day Out. The event has grown to be the largest event of its kind in Australia - something its founders never expected to achieve.

Paws at the Park was founded by two self-confessed crazy dog ladies who had their own small dog businesses and saw an opportunity to hold markets just for dog lovers. 

Co-Founder Lia Ferguson said "We connected after we both held stalls at the same "normal" markets and felt like people didn't come there to spend money on their dogs." Co-Founder Jenna Schroeder added "We decided to start our own markets with only dog products and it took off straight away. The rush we got from the amazing feedback and feeling of community had us wanting to run the event again and again".

Due to the size of the event, COVID-19 put restrictions on the event in 2020, but the event they held last year was a huge hit.

"Instead of our usual stage, we had Black Hops brewery come and sell drinks, with all proceeds going to AWLQ and had live music, picnic blanket and umbrellas set up to enjoy the event while socially distancing," Jenna said, "we hope to bring that same chilled vibe to the event this year, and have a few surprises up our sleeves".
