The below communication has been passed onto us from the Office of the Hon. Brad Hazzard MP, Minister for Health and Medical Research.

The types of premises that must be closed in Greater Sydney are listed on the NSW Government website.

Please note the list does not include premises used for pet grooming services, pet walking services, pet retail and pet day care and boarding services. These premises may remain open.

The NSW Government website also lists reasonable excuses for leaving your home in Greater Sydney. They include:

·       obtaining food or other goods or services for the personal needs of the household or other household purposes, including for pets, and for vulnerable persons

·       for the purposes of work if the person cannot work from the person’s place of residence.

Under these provisions, mobile pet grooming and walking businesses may operate in Greater Sydney.

While these pet services may continue to operate, NSW Health strongly encourages pet owners and service providers to delay non-essential services where reasonably practicable.

The Public Health Orders may change due to the evolving COVID-19 situation. For the latest advice, please visit the NSW Government's COVID-19 webpage.
