More support for Melbourne businesses in lockdown…
The Victorian Government has announced additional support for businesses most affected by the extension of the public health lockdown in Melbourne.
Grants from the $367 million joint Commonwealth-Victorian package will flow to more than 100,000 businesses across Melbourne.
The new package includes additional funding for:
· Small Business COVID Hardship Fund
· Business Costs Assistance Program Round Two
· Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund 2021
Small Business COVID Hardship Fund
The Small Business COVID Hardship Fund provides $10,000 grants for eligible small and medium businesses that have experienced a reduction in turnover of at least 70 per cent. Businesses that have received funding under any of the Victorian Government COVID-19 support packages launched on or after 27 May 2021 are not eligible for a grant under this program. Businesses are encouraged to check the eligibility for this program before applying.
COVID-19 Disaster Payment
Eligible workers across the state who lose hours due to the lockdown are able to access the Commonwealth’s COVID-19 Disaster Payment, as are individuals who are sole trader businesses who lost work and do not qualify for Victorian Government support programs. The payment is set at $450 for people who have lost from eight to 20 hours of work or a full day of work (over seven days), and $750 for those who lost 20 hours or more of work. Please read full eligibility before applying.
