RSPCA and Petbarn celebrate 10 year partnership…

To commemorate this milestone, RSPCA NSW and Petbarn are hosting a family-friendly community event at the Minchinbury Petbarn Store on Sunday 10 April 2022.

From 9 am to 2 pm, local pet owners will have access to complimentary training, behavioural, and veterinary advice on-site from professional trainers and vets. There will also be free pet food samples, face painting available for children, and the opportunity to adopt RSPCA NSW kittens and cats in-store.

Since 2012, Petbarn has supported RSPCA by caring for and rehoming over 47,000 animals by facilitating adoptions across 125 Petbarn stores.

When adopting an RSPCA animal from a Petbarn Adoption Centre, 100 percent of the adoption fee is returned to RSPCA. To date, Petbarn has collected and returned five million dollars in adoption fees to RSPCA nationally.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to see how the partnership between RSPCA and Petbarn has grown over the last decade. In addition to adoptions in-store, The Petbarn Foundation plays a vital role in supporting a range of RSPCA programs", said RSPCA NSW CEO, Steve Coleman.

“This year alone, The Petbarn Foundation will donate $595,000 to the RSPCA, which will help care for over 2,000 senior animals in shelter care and support our foster care network to help animals get rehomed faster. These funds will also enable us to carry out our crucial community outreach programs which focus on empowering vulnerable pet owners in the community to maintain ownership of their animals.”

Scott Charters, Chief Operating Officer of Petbarn and Chairperson of The Petbarn Foundation said We are so proud to celebrate our partnership has achieved with the RSPCA during this 10-year milestone, helping thousands of people and pets. We were inspired by the work of the RSPCA and wanted to actively help rehome surrendered pets which became the catalyst to the establishment of our own charity, The Petbarn Foundation, which has grown to provide critical support to people and pets in need across Australia.

"We work daily with the RSPCA to support vital community initiatives, run 125 pet adoption centres in our stores, and are committed to focusing our initiatives towards the areas in most need of support, such as domestic violence and supporting vulnerable pet owners. Our success together is a true testimony of the magic that happens when brands and charities have shared values and goals – on to the next decade!”
