The Petspiration Foundation announces three year parternship with Assistance Dogs Australia…
The Petspiration Foundation (formally PETstock Assist) has announced its latest long-term charity partner, Assistance Dogs Australia (ADA), securing a three-year partnership with the like-minded national organisation.
The partnership will see a donation of $195,000 to ADA cumulatively over the next three years as part of the Foundation’s mission to strengthen the rewarding bond between pets and people, empowering a better future for both.
$30,000 will go towards the development of ADA’s upcoming Sensory Garden and $105,000 will be allocated towards funding all placement packs throughout the partnership. The Foundation will also help sponsor the placement of six assistance dogs’ post-graduation, helping ADA’s dedicated team continue to deliver on a high benchmark of placement and matching their client’s needs.
Dogtober Campaign
Throughout October, the Foundation will also support ADA’s Dogtober campaign which encourages the community to organise fundraising events to help ADA continue to train highly intelligent, specially bred dogs to help people living with disabilities across Australia.
The Petspiration Foundation’s Charity and Events Lead, Sherralea Cassidy, says the partnership will go a long way in helping ADA raise and place trained dogs with clients.
“We believe that there are so many ways that pets can improve people’s lives – whether that’s reducing feelings of anxiety, loneliness or disadvantage,” says Sherralea.
“We are proud to be able to support like-minded organisations like ADA who are committed to empowering a better future for both pets and people.”
“Since first partnering with ADA in 2017, we’ve witnessed first-hand the positive impact that their work has on the lives of pets and people across the country.
“Providing Australians with better access to emotional and physical support through pets is extremely powerful, so we’re so excited to join ADA in October – and over the next three years – to help provide even more Australians with the support that they need.”
Assistance Dogs Australia’s National Major Relationships Manager, Tara Cheesman, says that the Foundation has been a respected partner for many years and is excited to continue into a longer-term agreement.
“We’ll be able to provide many more Australians with the essential support and day-to-day guidance they need to be part of their respective communities thanks to the long-term support of The Foundation.
“The new Sensory Garden will help improve the training of our dogs, and the placement of newly graduated dogs with clients will not only provide us with financial aid, but also help us open countless more doors for them as individuals.
This financial year, the Petspiration Foundation has dispersed more than $600,000 to organisations across the country, including support to Very Special Kids and Second Chance Animal Rescue.
