Update from NSW Government…

Key changes for NSW businesses from 15 December 2021

Mask wearing
Masks are now only required on public transport, planes and at airports, or for front-of-house hospitality staff who are not double vaccinated, however masks continue to be encouraged indoors and where people cannot socially distance.

You may choose to continue requiring people to wear a mask as a condition of entry to your premises to protect the well-being of your staff and customers.

Capacity Limits
There are no capacity limits and most venues are open to everyone.

COVID Safe Check-ins
COVID Safe check-ins are only required in high-contact environments including hospitals, aged and disability care facilities, gyms, places of worship, funerals or memorial services (including hairdressers, beauty salons and spas), pubs, small bars and registered clubs, nightclubs, sex services, sex on premises and indoor music festivals with over 1,000 people.

COVID-19 Safety Plans
COVID-19 Safety Plans are now optional but are strongly recommended to ensure you continue to operate in a COVID-safe way.

Proof of vaccination
Proof of vaccination is no longer required at most venues except for indoor music festivals with more than 1,000 people.

You may choose to continue requiring people to wear a mask as a condition of entry to your premises to protect the well-being of your staff and customers.

Although restrictions have eased, businesses still have obligations under WHS legislation to take reasonable steps to ensure the health and safety of workers and customers. SafeWork NSW is available to assist your business with advice and can be contacted at 13 10 50
